Founded in 1995, The Robert Hedges Company provides general business brokerage and intermediary services for businesses in Colorado and surrounding States. Quality of service for clients is our highest priority. By limiting the number of active listings, we are able to be more proactive and better dedicate the expertise of the company resources to achieve a favorable result.

We are a full-service business brokerage company. We offer Buyers and Sellers brokerage and intermediary services, transition planning for the future, and professional business valuations from recognized third party specialists. All professional intermediaries of The Robert Hedges Company are Colorado licensed real estate brokers.

The Robert Hedges Company has a successful and proven track history of helping clients buy, and sell businesses. The TRHC team has facilitated the sale and purchase of businesses in a variety of market sectors including retail, manufacturing, construction, media, landscaping, healthcare, food and beverage, liquor store, drilling, excavating, health and fitness, information technology and software, and government services (including small business, disadvantaged and 8(a) companies). While our focus will be as depicted below, we will continue to assist sellers in assessing their businesses in other sectors as well.

The Robert Hedges Company is a member of The Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries. Founded in 1999, CABI is a non-profit trade association whose purpose is to promote the education and professional standards of its members and to represent the interests of the industry within the State of Colorado. As such CABI has dedicated it’s efforts towards bringing together business brokers and intermediaries as well as those professionals who facilitate our transactions, which include lenders, attorneys, accountants, financial planners, business coaches and others.

Robert Hedges
Broker/Owner

Bob has owned and operated a variety of his own businesses for over the last 40 years, including a linen and uniform rental business (commercial laundry), dry cleaning stores, retail business and a service franchise business targeted to the restaurant industry. He has provided management consulting services to help businesses improve their bottom line and assist in the planning stages.

Bob started The Robert Hedges Company business brokerage firm in 1995 and continues to manage the company. He Holds a Colorado Real Estate License, is a member of the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries and has completed his service as a board member. Bob is also a Certified Exit Planing Advisor (CEPA) through the Exit Planning Institute www.exit-planning-institute.org.

Bob is a member of Rotary International where he has served as Past President and as a Board member of the Broadmoor Rotary Club.

Tom Knops
Broker Associate

Tom has over 30 years business and senior management experience in private industry primarily in the high technology sector with Unisys, ITT and several technology startup companies; in business brokerage; investment banking; and in business consulting. His IT background includes operational management, business development and strategic partner/channel development with both government and commercial customers.

Since 2010, Tom served as Managing Director for Core Capital Group, where he managed the Denver office and lead an M&A practice focused on Information Technology and Healthcare. Recently, Tom joined The Robert Hedges Company as a Broker Associate and will continue the previous focus as well as other sectors in the small to middle market.

Tom received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from St. Cloud State University with a minor in Business and completed the ITT Executive & Business Curriculum at Duke University Fuqua School of Business. He holds a Colorado Real Estate License and is a member of the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries.

Tom volunteers with many community non-profit organizations in various capacities. He served as Past President of the Dakota County American Cancer Society, served on the allocation committee for United Way in Colorado Springs, served on the education subcommittee for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, and was the grant writer for Westside CARES before serving on its Capital Campaign committee where $1,500,000 was raised to purchase and upgrade a new facility. Tom currently is the sponsorship chair for the Feast of Saint Arnold family friendly beer festival benefiting Westside CARES.
